With its fabulous beaches, stunning coastline and lush countryside, Cornwall is deservedly a very popular holiday destination. It has a Celtic flavour which is mixed with the historic landmarks of the tin mine buildings, that gives it a unique charm. Because of the shape of Cornwall, you are never more than twenty miles from the sea.
Cornwall mixes the old with the new. Some fishing villages seem unchanged in a hundred years. Tales of smugglers and other myths seem to come alive in the narrow streets of villages like Port Isaac, where Doc Martin was filmed. Newquay on the other hand has become a very popular resort with a vibrant night life and also has some of the best beaches in the UK.
In addition to being ideal for beach holidays, Cornwall also has a lot more to offer. For children, there are theme parks such as Flambards, animal parks and other child friendly attractions. For others, visit ruined castles, mining museums, historic houses, art galleries or simply walk through the streets to see what the small gift shops have to offer. There are also an array of activities to enjoy such as swimming, surfing, cycling and walking amongst others. Some of the resorts offer boat and fishing trips, which is something out of the ordinary to make your holiday memorable.
Don't forget to try the local food specialities of Cornish pasties, Cream Teas (that feature scones, jam and cream - in that order) and of course Cornish ice cream. If you like seafood and fish, you are in for a treat, while other locally sourced food is usually of a very high quality. The local ales and ciders are also worth trying as are the pubs, some of which are hundreds of years old.
Family holidays do not get better than Cornwall and we have a great selection of holiday parks for you to choose from. Newquay is the largest and most popular resort, while some of the other holiday parks are in remote locations, where you can enjoy the beautiful countryside and relaxed atmosphere.
